Julien Baveye recently joined the Deux Huit Huit creative team as a designer. We sat down with him in order to learn his various points of view on design.T

Where do you go on the web to get inspiration?
I’m never disappointed on HTTPSTER I clikclk pretty often! And the website of the day on Awwwards and Mindsparkle of course!

In less than 144 characters, what is a good designer?
A good designer will master how to bring out an emotion, a desire, a smile, etc. in a timeless fashion.

How would you define a good website for 2017?
Fluid / Fun / Reliable :)

What’s the last font you used in a project?
Dekar Font.

What was your perception of Deux Huit Huit before you started?
In all transparency, I had a vision of an applied, humble and passionate business! When I discovered the “Hire us’ page, I honestly smiled! The team seemed happy and comfortable ;)

What do you keep on your desk?
A balloon I received to welcome me to the team, a notebook, an HB pencil, a protein bar to keep me strong and some Tic-Tacs for breath that’s always fresh!

How many online purchases have you made last year?
2 or 3 a month on average.

What’s the last music you listened to while working?
Breakbot, Mystery, on repeat!

What do you do on the weekends?
Adept of analog photography, I take my old Leica with me all the time, everywhere! Between emotional strolls and stolen scenes, I like people watching. I like to capture their everyday, meaningless in their eyes, but fascinating in mine! Take a look : baveye.tumblr.com
