Employeeeee of the Month / May 2017

This month, the spotlight is on Frédérick, a backend developer at Deux Huit Huit.

Our team of programmers doesn’t only work on client mandates. We also initiate our own projects. Whether it’s conceiving productivity tools, content platforms or utility applications, the team challenges itself to create its own products. You might already know the Shift-Click Image Extractor, a Chrome extension developed by us and that counts over 3000 users worldwide today.

The next Chrome extension that we will be launching in the next few months was planned by the Deux Huit Huit team and developed with brio by Frédérick under mentorship by Nicolas Brassard-Ferron, B.Eng in Software and Director of Web Development at Deux Huit Huit.

This extension will rapidly become an essential tool to accompany you in your online purchases. Here, I’ll leave you in suspense and keep the mystery alive.

Conceived without the knowledge of the rest of the team, Frédérick officially presented the beta version of the project in front of 20 of his colleagues during our last Lunch n’ Learn. Beyond the quality of the prototype and the richness of the content of his presentation, Fredérick awed the team with his hidden talent as a public speaker and his ability to popularize complex concepts. A standing ovation was self-evident.

Well done Fred. You’re awesome!

Answering Édouard’s tough questions: Piece of cake.

Frédérick Hamon joined the development department at Deux Huit Huit in early 2016 as a backend developer. Since, he has participated in multiple projects like Mobilier de Gaspé, L'Éloi, C'est Beau, The Workshop, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and many others.

If Fred isn’t at his desk, you’ll probably find him at The Waverly sipping a Long Island Iced Tea.
